Source & Attribution Policy

The quality of our intelligence depends entirely on the quality of what we monitor. This policy explains how we select sources, how they are scored, how we attribute them in published content, and how publishers can request changes.

Last updated: May 8, 2026

How Sources Are Selected

VTechX Hub does not accept content submissions from sources and does not pay for content placement. Sources are selected entirely on the basis of editorial quality and relevance. Our Scout Agent continuously monitors a curated list of technology and business publications across the following categories:

AI & Machine Learning

TechCrunch AI, VentureBeat AI, MarkTechPost, Unite.AI

Cybersecurity

The Hacker News, Google News (security alerts)

Startups & Funding

TechCrunch Startups, Y Combinator Blog, Sifted

Tech News (General)

The Verge, Ars Technica, Engadget, TechCrunch

Business & Markets

Economic Times, Google News (India business)

Digital Marketing & SEO

Google News (digital marketing & SEO signals)

This list is not exhaustive and is updated quarterly based on source authority scoring and editorial review. New sources are added when they consistently produce high-signal, original reporting. Sources are removed when quality declines or they begin publishing primarily promotional or low-credibility content.

Source Authority Scoring

Each source in our pipeline is assigned an authority weight (1–3) that contributes to the signal score of articles discovered from that source. This weight is determined by:

  • ✓
Original reporting ratio: Sources that break stories or conduct original research receive higher authority scores than aggregators or press-release republishers.
  • ✓
Editorial track record: Sources with a documented history of accuracy, corrections transparency, and editorial standards receive a score of 3. General-purpose or regional sources receive a 1 or 2.
  • ✓
Domain authority: Independently established publications with significant readership and citation history score higher than newly launched or niche-only sources.
  • ✓
Correction culture: Sources that publish corrections publicly and promptly are weighted more heavily than those with no visible correction history.

The source authority score is one of five components in our signal score formula: (recency×3) + (sourceAuthority×3) + (uniqueness×2) + (impact×2) + (trendVelocity×2). A story from a high-authority source on a unique topic scores significantly higher than the same story republished by an aggregator.

Attribution Standards

Every article published on VTechX Hub that is derived from a source includes:

✓

Source link

A direct link to the original source article, displayed on the article page. We link to the primary source, not an intermediary aggregator.

✓

In-text attribution

Factual claims drawn from the source are attributed inline: "according to [Publication]", "[Company] announced", or "per [Source]". We do not present sourced facts as original reporting.

✓

Source display on article

The source domain is displayed visibly on the article detail page so readers can identify where the original reporting originated.

✓

No full-text reproduction

VTechX Hub does not reproduce full articles or substantial verbatim excerpts from source material. Our content is original analysis and synthesis — not a copy of the source.

Copyright Compliance and Fair Use

VTechX Hub operates under the principle that AI-generated analysis and commentary on published events constitutes transformative work under fair use doctrine. Specifically:

  • •We use publicly available headlines, metadata, and brief excerpts from published articles as factual reference points — not as content to reproduce.
  • •All generated articles are original works that analyse, contextualise, and provide expert interpretation of reported events — they are not rewrites of the source.
  • •We do not extract content from paywalled articles, bypass access controls, or circumvent publisher restrictions. If a source requires a subscription, we work only with the publicly available abstract or headline.
  • •Images used in articles are either AI-generated (via DALL-E), licensed stock images, or images attributed to and linked from the original source with permission. We do not scrape or reproduce copyrighted images without authorisation.

Sources We Exclude

Not all sources are monitored. We do not include sources that:

  • ✗Consistently publish unverified or sensationalist content
  • ✗Are primarily promotional vehicles (press release aggregators, corporate blogs without editorial independence)
  • ✗Have a documented history of publishing false or misleading information without correction
  • ✗Produce content that does not meet our minimum signal threshold over any 30-day evaluation window
  • ✗Have explicitly requested exclusion from our monitoring pipeline

Removal and Opt-Out Requests

If you are the publisher or rights holder for a source and wish to be excluded from the VTechX Hub monitoring pipeline, you have two options:

Option 1 — Robots.txt exclusion

Add User-agent: VTechXHubBot with Disallow: / to your robots.txt. Our Scout Agent respects robots.txt directives and will cease monitoring your domain.

Option 2 — Direct request

Email [email protected] with your domain name and reason for removal. We process removal requests within 5 business days. Existing articles derived from your source will be reviewed and unpublished if you request it.

Company & Person Profile Data

VTechX Hub maintains intelligence profiles for companies and individuals mentioned across our published insights. These profiles are built from three sources:

✓

Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 3.0)

Biographical and company descriptions are sourced from Wikipedia's public REST API. These are displayed with attribution and a link back to the original Wikipedia article.

✓

Wikidata (CC0 — Public Domain)

Structured facts including founding dates, headquarters, industry, employee count, and professional relationships are imported from Wikidata. No attribution is legally required, but we display a Wikidata link for transparency.

✓

VTechX Intelligence insights

Relationships extracted from our published articles are stored with a minimum confidence threshold of 0.92 and link back to the specific insight that reported the fact.

No affiliation disclaimer

VTechX Hub is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to any company or individual profiled on this platform. All company names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Profiles are compiled from publicly available open data sources for informational purposes only.

Report a Source Concern

If you believe a specific article misattributes a source, reproduces content without permission, or contains a factual error traceable to a sourcing issue, please email [email protected] with the article URL, the specific claim, and the correct source. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 48 hours.
